CEV Still Has Weight Problems

NASA Updated Crew Exploration Vehicle Lien Closure Implementation Plan, May 23, 2007

"Primary objective - Develop a system design that closes on weight and cost, including required Manager’s Reserve (1000-2000 lbs) - Primary objective likely won’t be met by SDR

What is off limits?

- OML size and shape
- 6 crew to ISS/4 crew to Lunar
- Changes to subsystem basic technology or architecture (i.e., amine swing beds v. LiO canisters, LIDS vs. probe and cone)"
