The Orion spacecraft alone has more Crit 1 failure points than the entire Shuttle system, including GSE. How is this the safest vehicle? Did you know that ascent requires over 150 pyro events, any one of which could result in loss of vehicle and crew? Now Congress is going to prevent the administration from saving human spaceflight and the Agency by forcing our hand with funding. Pork barrel politics at its finest.
