According to NASA: "Space shuttle Endeavour landed at Kennedy Space Center. A post-landing news conference with managers at Kennedy is expected no earlier than midnight ET on NASA TV and www.nasa.gov/ntv. The participants will be: Mike Moses, space shuttle launch integration manager, and Mike Leinbach, shuttle launch director. A welcome ceremony for the crew's return to Houston will be held at Ellington Field's NASA Hangar 990 at 4 p.m. CT on Monday."
Space Shuttle Endeavour Lands
Another tremendously successful mission accomplished by the LAME-DUCK Shuttle---and now only a few more flights before they put this amazing machine "out to pasture" (not even to stud service!) ! Yes, it's "expensive" but tell me again WHY it's being retired and NASA is handing over HSF to the Russians (and Chinese) for what, 7-10 years? Some of us old vets of this HSF-world think that the O'Keefe-led idea of retiring the Shuttle to "save money" (and just shuffle that over to the Ruskies) and because the "old girl is unsafe and obsolete" is perhaps the BIGGEST "BUS TO ABILENE" MISTAKE NASA has ever made (and there have been some doosies!). You young folks--ask a NASA "grey beard" what the heck is a "Bus to Abilene"? 'Cause if you don't know you don't know a thing about Program Management and common sense!
Okay, end of tirade---NASA and the US Space effort deserves what they get--just as the Obama voters do!
Congrats Shuttle on another splendid mission!
