"[Yang Liwei] added that the diet had been specially drawn up for the astronauts by Chinese nutritionists and that the food had been purchased from special suppliers in Beijing. Dog is widely eaten in northern China, where it is believed to help battle the winter cold. The menu was still in use last year, when Chinese astronauts conducted their first ever spacewalk. China has plans to land a man on the moon by 2020."

Once you've made the decision to eat animals, why does it matter which animal it is? Why is it ok to eat chickens, cows, and pigs, but not cats and dogs?
I find the concept of eating cow or pig just as reprehensible as eating a dog or cat, or any other animal for that matter. We can get everything we need to sustain life without killing any animals in 2010.
I am a dog lover and I cant imagine eating dogmeat. The thought of it even sickens me already as can you imagine man's best friend becomes man's "menu special"? oh my!

I completely agree wth you Tekneek.
I haven't eaten dog yet would probably do it If I had the chance. I don't really see the difference in eating animals that's not cute. As long as they are killed in quick and efficient way.

Dog that would be dericious ;) as they say around here.
calf's are cute when they are small as well, basically all mammals are adorable when being in kid/infant stage. This is due to proportionally larger head and eyes to the rest of the body.
That is why we think they are cure
Hmm well just because its a part of their culture doesn't mean that we must like it.
I think its up hauling to eat a dog the idea completely disgust me to the max.
