Because the MOST important piece of the Constellation puzzle is its goal: a permanent presence on the Moon (hopefully an economically viable presence), I was glad to read: Senate NASA Bill to Include the Moon as a Destination for Future Explorers, Settlers.
I assume this language survived in the bill?

Does this mean I get my MSFC job back?
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH... at the exact same time this politician-led, photo-op press conference was happening in Washingotn DC, a handful of KSC ASRC employees were being escorted to the gates by their management and KSC (and local Titusville) Security forces (in a surprise move, 24 hours early). More than a few went today and tomorrow (Friday, 7/16), very early in the day, potentially another (slightly less than) 150 (or so) will follow - MUCH more to come!! This is the promised Hope and Change in action - GREAT way to stimulate the economy!?! Obviously, these are NOT the jobs VP Biden was recently speaking about. NASA - Nuturing Arab Self Awareness. THANKS, Charlie... we'd like you to come down for the next Shuttle launch - we have a special viewing seat for you (in the bottom of the flame trench). Time to go, big guy!!!
Typical response from some one from a bloated and overmanned organization. ASRC has too many people. No great loss.
I have not heard yet if the WH has made the "seal of approval" that Sen. Nelson referred to. Has it happened yet? Was Dep. Admn. Garver's statement supposed to be the this "seal of approval"?

Vitter: Michoud, Michoud, blah, blah, Michoud, Michoud blah, and oh, did I mention Michoud?
Hatch: Solds, solids, solids. The very survival of our nation depends on solids.
Hutchison: NASA HQ is in Houston. (she actually said that!)
Nelson: Uh, any questions?
Seriously, though, I'm amazed that the polarized Senate could come up with anything that gets unanimous approval, even if it's just in committee. We'll have to see what comes out the other end of the Appropriations and full Senate sausage grinder.
