NASAWATCH: Thank you for your very frank and truthful comments about Fox TV's disgusting moon hoax show. I wrote to our local affiliate (KJTV-34, Lubbock TX) after the first broadcast of Conspiracy Theory etc.. They largely agreed with my views on the show and offered to do a brief news segment, featuring local hoax debunkers, after the rerun. Harvey Madison of the Center for Critical Thinking and I were the chosen debunkers. The segment ran last night during KJTV's local news broadcast. This was immediately after the hoax-hoax re-run, so we had an excellent lead-in. The segment was only 2 minutes long. This script has been edited to match the actual broadcast. "Jeff" is KJTV news director and anchor Jeff Klotzman.

It wasn't much, but we at least had a chance to hit back. KJTV, to their very great credit, went out of their way to distance themselves from the program. As far as I know, they were the only Fox affiliate to directly repudiate the hoax program. I am told that KJTV owner Brad Moran personally approved the segment and promised to back the news department 100% if the network had any complaints.
