Date: Wed, 09 Dec 1998 To: lots.of.folks@gsfc.nasa.gov From: someone@gsfc.nasa.gov Subject: Preparations for Upcoming Goldin Visit Good afternoon, I've just been informed that Administrator Goldin may be visiting us next Thursday, the 17th. He will likely tour some of our facilities but the itinerary is still being worked. Everyone has certain "hot buttons" or pet peeves and one of Goldin's is the old NASA logo; the 'worm'. He decreed a number of years ago that he didn't want to see any of the NASA "worms" ever again and the Center removed/covered up a good many of them. Unfortunately, some are reported to remain and the Center Director is concerned about the Administrator being antagonized over something like this. Therefore, please take a quick look around your buildings to identify where the old logo still exists and where we can remove or cover up the 'worm' without compromising safety, let's do so. This may seem somewhat trivial but life is hard enough without making folks in high places mad especially when removing the source of concern may be pretty easy.
