This activity is a result of the deferral/ deletion of the Hab module
from the Program

SUMMARY
If Hab deleted, extended Node 3 is best option considered
Does not replace Hab, but approximates functionality
Known issues need to be resolved
Need Alenia/ ASI input
Need Program Direction ASAP to minimize Node 3
- Critical date is Sep. 2001 -- Alenia welds second endcone to structure
OTHER OPTIONS
12 rack Node 3
- Decreases mass but loses some functionality
Send element structure to Alenia for outfitting/ integration
Manufacture copy of Node structure
Use modified MPLM structure
