Subject:   VIRUS SITUATION

We are in a very serious situation with a virus on all TsUP machines. The Russians have informed us that we have infected their machines as well with something they can't disinfect. Last night, we tried to send up Dave's timeline summary which was 1/2 page. The Packet operator told us this morning that they tried to send the file but it was too large ... 11kb...which we know is not the case. There were other e-mails to Dave, but we are waiting on 2nd shift to clarify what files were in the cue. When the file was finally received on board it was un-readable. Also, i had an email in my box from POSA containing yesterday's TL summary. It was too large to open in Notepad and opened in WORD. The virus may have something to do with this situation as well. We are trying to run Norton on the Macs but it isn't working. An urgent call has been put into Wes...who was here yesterday and thought everything was clean...to come out and fix it.

SO...I'm suggesting that we send no attachments back and forth...that seems to be the way we are re-infecting each other. Use faxes and cut and paste for the time being. we will keep you posted.
